CBD (cannabidiol), is a chemical compound that comes from the cannabis sativa plant. It’s one of the plant’s many compounds and is a high-concentration cannabinoid. Both of them interact with the endocannabinoid system (ECS), a large cell receptor proteins network with a wide range of functions. Our bodies contain such receptors in the central nervous system, digestive tract, skin and reproductive organs. ECS controls appetite, mood, ovulation, immune response, cognition, sperm development and movement. CBD interacts with the endocannabinoid system to regulate these various functions.
